Spring iris in full bloom surprised me September 3, 2006, the morning I learned Marione had died in the night. When I printed the iris, rather than designate it with the next number in the iris print sequence, it became Marione's Iris. Last year, I had a Winter Solstice iris print, but only one stalk bloomed. This iris began a bloom that is still blooming in December.
